Object and Acceptance
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of the PassCitoyen application (mobile and web) published by Civytech, a simplified joint-stock company registered under SIREN 104 052 709, headquartered in Pont-Péan (35131), France.
By creating an account or using the application, you unconditionally accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Service Description
PassCitoyen is a civic education application designed to help users prepare for:
- French citizenship naturalization interviews
- Civic knowledge assessments (carte de séjour, values of the Republic)
- General civic culture quizzes (history, institutions, geography)
The application is available on iOS, Android and via the web at passcitoyen.fr.
Account and Registration
2.1 Eligibility
The service is accessible to any natural person aged 16 or over. Minors under 16 must obtain prior parental consent.
2.2 Account Security
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. Any activity under your account is your responsibility. Notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access at support@passcitoyen.fr.
2.3 Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the application settings (Profile → Advanced Settings → Delete Account). Data is deleted subject to applicable legal retention duties. Deleting a PassCitoyen account does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription; you must first stop renewal through “Manage Subscription” or your store settings.
Subscriptions and Payments
3.1 Available Plans
The features, price, currency and billing period of every available plan are shown before confirmation. Only plans displayed in the app or website at the time of purchase are available.
3.2 Billing
Digital subscriptions on iOS and Android are billed by Apple App Store and Google Play, respectively. Eligible web payments may be processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically for the period shown before purchase unless cancelled before renewal under the payment provider's rules.
3.3 Cancellation and Refunds
You may access cancellation at any time from Profile → Manage Subscription. The app opens the official Apple or Google subscription manager for store purchases and submits Stripe cancellation requests directly. Unless mandatory law, the payment provider or more favourable terms provide otherwise, cancellation stops future renewal and access continues until the end of the paid period. Refund and withdrawal requests are handled by the provider that billed the purchase, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. Contact support@passcitoyen.fr for assistance.
3.4 Receipts
Apple and Google issue and retain mobile purchase receipts in the user's store account. Stripe invoices are available from “Manage Subscription” when issued.
3.5 Family Plan
The family plan allows invitation of up to 5 members. Members do not need to have a paid subscription — only the plan holder pays. Invitations expire after 7 days.
Intellectual Property
All content of PassCitoyen (quizzes, flashcards, texts, graphics, logo, interface, source code) is the exclusive property of Civytech or is used under licence granted to Civytech. Any reproduction, distribution or modification without prior written authorization is prohibited.
The application may include questions based on public civic knowledge. Their selection, ordering, and presentation remain the intellectual property of Civytech.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent or malicious purposes
- Attempt to access, modify or disrupt servers or networks
- Share your account credentials or make your subscription accessible to others outside the Family plan
- Reproduce, sell or redistribute application content without authorization
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to extract content
Any breach may result in immediate account suspension without refund.
Limitation of Liability
PassCitoyen is an educational preparation tool. Civytech does not guarantee success in any civic exam or naturalization interview. Quiz content is provided for informational purposes and may not reflect the most current official requirements.
Civytech's liability is limited to the amounts paid by the user in the 12 months preceding the claim, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Availability and Changes
Civytech reserves the right to modify the service, pricing plans or these Terms at any time. Changes to the Terms will be communicated by email with at least 30 days' notice for material changes. Continued use of the service after this period constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
We strive for 99% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
